CatBase is a Windows based program that combines the features of a graphical user interface with those of a relational data base. The program supports two types of data items: the part and the assembly. A part is any item that is used in the construction of a piece of equipment or machine. A centralized data base is used to store all the parts that make up the product. Assemblies are combinations of parts that are linked together. Examples of assemblies include hydraulic circuits, engines, frames, and electrical control panels. Drawings can be associated with each assembly and hotspots can then be used to sensitize sections of these drawings. When using the electronic version of the part book, the user accesses information by moving from one assembly to another by double clicking on the hotspots. By using a graphical interface in combination with the equipment's tree structure, the time taken to find information is significantly reduced. |

CatBase also includes a requisition module that allows your customers or dealers to quickly use the mouse to select parts from the electronic part book and to add them to a custom designed printed, faxed, or electronically transmitted order form. This makes ordering parts easier and significantly reduces waste caused by errors in the ordering process.
CatBase can further increase savings by electronically distributing updated graphics and parts list - using any of the media now available - CD, internet, LAN, WAN...
Electronic distribution decreases publishing costs while giving customers the most immediate access to current parts information.
