The master parts database and Bill of Material can be directly imported into CatBase from virtually any digital source. We have data integration programs to help create the EPB starting from AutoCAD, SolidWorks ®, ProEngineer ® and Acrobat ® just to name a few.

As an example, a customer generates a complete electronic parts book (about 500 pages) in less than 45 minutes, with unmatched quality and accuracy. The conversion program Novalog developed for this customer takes a list of AutoCAD engineering drawings and:

Converts the drawing to a raster image after removing unwanted elements such as title blocks, BOM, manufacturing or dimensioning information, etc…

Creates the CatBase database objects by reading the title block, BOM, revisions, table of content section.

Converts balloons found on the original drawings into hyperlinks to corresponding parts in the BOM
